Dear Deputy/Assistant Wardens,

We are currently planning our 67th annual United States Deputy Warden’s Association Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.  The conference will take place at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel on July 29–August 3, 2012.  The Music City will provide a magnificent setting with numerous exciting group and family activities, including a night in the city for an exciting evening. 

The United States Deputy Warden's Association is the only professional organization exclusively for Deputy Warden's.  We are one of the oldest correctional organizations in existence.  For those of you who have participated in past events, I encourage you to share your experiences with others who may be interested in becoming a member.  For those who have not attended in the past, the USDWA is an outstanding professional organization that also places a high priority on family being a part of the conference experience.

Our 2012 conference has some excellent training sessions that are being developed to provide career enhancement, as well as sessions on issues that are applicable to the current corrections climate.  As always, the conference will also provide excellent networking opportunities allowing us to share successes and learn new ideas.   One of the current challenges many of us are facing is an ongoing budgetary shortfall.  It is my hope that even if your agency cannot cover all expenses, you will do as many have and still take advantage of the conference training and events available to you and your family at a very affordable rate.   As always, we will have spouse and children events throughout the week. 

We have a desire and are looking forward to seeing as many senior management correctional professionals and their families from all across America to come join us during the week of July 29–August 3, 2012.
